Based in The Hague, I work across performance, artistic research, pedagogy, immersive practice, and community-building.
My work moves between making, teaching, mentoring, and creating structures in which artistic research can be shared.
01 · Artistic Practice
Movement as a way of thinking.
I began my career as a professional dancer, performing internationally with companies including Nederlands Dans Theater and Batsheva Dance Company.
Since then, my practice has expanded across choreography, performance, interdisciplinary collaboration, artistic research, and participatory formats.
I am interested in the space where movement, perception, imagination, and human experience meet — and in what can emerge when form is allowed to remain open long enough for something unexpected to happen.
02 · Artistic Research & Education
Artistic research is central to my practice.
Since 2016, I have taught in higher education at the Royal Conservatoire The Hague, including the modules Create Your Own Work and Solo for HBO 3 & 4. I have also taught intensive artistic research modules at ArtEZ.
My teaching and mentoring focus on artistic autonomy, embodied intelligence, compositional rigor, critical reflection, and sustainable creative processes.
I am particularly interested in helping artists recognize what is specific to their own practice and transform intuition into clear artistic choices.
03 · Shared structures
CLOUD / danslab · 2011
I co-founded CLOUD/danslab in The Hague in 2011 as an independent space for artistic research, creation, experimentation, and exchange. Over the years, CLOUD has hosted and supported hundreds of artists, residencies, and projects.
Beyond providing a studio, CLOUD functions as a place for dialogue, mentorship, risk-taking, and the development of new artistic processes.
HUBS Immersive Festival · 2017
In 2017, I co-founded HUBS Immersive Festival, bringing together performance, visual art, sound, technology, installation, and participatory practice.
What happens when artistic disciplines stop operating separately?
The festival became a laboratory where artists, audiences, technologies, and physical environments could actively shape one another.
04 · Flow Fusion
Flow Fusion emerged from years of movement research, teaching, choreography, and somatic exploration.
It brings together guided improvisation, movement research, breath, anatomical awareness, creativity, and attention.
The practice is less about learning a fixed vocabulary than developing the ability to listen, adapt, articulate, take risks, and discover new possibilities through the body.
It is a space where artistic research and embodied practice meet.
05 · A practice of connection
How do we create conditions in which something genuinely new can emerge?
How can an artist remain rigorous without becoming rigid?
How can movement become a form of thinking?
What place can art and creativity occupy in daily life?
For me, creativity begins when things that were previously separate begin to connect.
A movement with a sensation.
A thought with a body.
One person with another.
An artistic practice with the world around it.
